·        These Are rich in protective antioxidants such as beta carotene and lutein,
it help prevent many chronic diseases.
·        It May help improve memory.

People may have gained health benefits from wild greens over 200,000 years ago. Today, greens are known as one of the healthiest vegetables, and also they’re inexpensive. Organic greens may be healthier than conventional non-organic greens due to their defensive response to getting bitten by bugs.

The calcium in green leafy vegetables is more effectively absorbed by the body than that found in cow’s milk. Potassium from dark greens may be anti-inflammatory and may prevent strokes and heart disease.  Greens can also have an antioxidants, iron, zinc, and magnesium, a nutrient that may lesser the risk of a range of health concerns including diabetes, heart disease and sudden cardiac attack.  Fresh organic Dark Greens are the best source of plant-based nitrates. Nitrates from a plant-based diet are very useful for human body. In fact, nitric oxide formed from plant-based nitrate may play a vital role in the prevention of high blood pressure and heart disease. Eating whole plant foods is likely better for your health than taking expensive and (harmful) supplements.  For example, folate, which can lower the risk of depression, in greens appears preferable to folic acid supplements. Many nutrients found in organic greens vegetables are fat soluble, which means including some healthy whole food fats like nuts and seeds, in a meal can help you better absorb the phytonutrients.  Plant-based diets, including greens, tend to be alkaline-forming, which may help protect your muscle mass and reduce the risk of gout and kidney stones. High consumption in particular of dark green leafy and cruciferous vegetables may be linked to lower rates of cognitive decline. Greens can be an important part of a plant-based diet that could reduce risk for cardiac disease and heart attack. Some valuable nutrients are destroyed by cooking, but some nutrients become more absorbable. So, a mix of cooked and raw vegetables, including greens, may be the best. Smoothies may also be a great source to get all of the nutrients greens have to offer. Although make sure to drink whole food smoothies (not made from juice), and it may be better to use a straw to prevent enamel erosion.

Consuming at least one serving a month of greens appears to reduce the risk of glaucoma by 69%. Zeaxanthin and Lutein, nutrients found greens, also appear to be protective against cataracts and macular degeneration. Greens consumption is also linked with increased physical attractiveness, reduced scares, improved dental health, facial wrinkling, better immune system, and may reduce free radical DNA damage.

Two to three daily servings of greens may help clear the human papilloma virus, which can cause cancer. Eating dark green leafy vegetables may also reduce risk for kidney cancer, breast cancer and lymphoma, and overall cancer risk. Adding mustard powder to cooked greens can boost sulforaphane levels to help protect against cancer.

Overall, most people in the U.S. fall short in meeting guidelines set by the USDA. For example, nine out of ten Americans could not meet the recommended minimum for vegetables (nine servings a day), including dark green leafy vegetables.

Why is organic food good for your health?
Do you want to stay away from foods contains with pesticides? Here is the more information that why organic food is good for your health.

Most of the fruits and vegetables are loaded with essential nutrients and vitamins that are good for your mind and body. However, commercial demands and competition in the market often make farmers use chemical fertilizers and pesticides in order to increase their production. According to nutritionist, ‘Now a day’s growth hormones are injected in fruits, vegetables, poultry, pulses, and meat to make them larger and plumper quickly. Everyone consuming these products thereby eating these chemicals too. Researchers has documented and proven that these hormones and chemicals are what are causing the obesity sizes in people today. The chemicals and the preservatives are the cause of psychological disorders, mood swings, depression, irritability and hyper activity that have now become a common phenomenon. Problems in conceiving, Infertility in men, early puberty among children at very young age (eight) is another problem by product of consuming such foods.’
It’s very difficult, it’s the to stand up and fight against such unhealthy ways adopted by farmers. But, that doesn’t mean we have to continue eating those foods packed with pesticides. Organic farming is taking the country by strong storm and more and more people are choosing to eat organic foods. Let’s know more about the process of organic farming and why it is healthier than conventional food.

 How organic farming done?

Very simply, organic farming is done without using chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Instead of using harmful chemicals alternative farming practices like use of green, crop rotation, and animal manure, organic seeds etc. are employed.

Why organic food is healthier than normally conventional produced food?
According to nutritionist ‘An organic diet is not just about nutrition, it is the Art of Eating – it reflects your attitude towards life and to the world, because good food sustains good life bad food kills. For healthy growth, we need pure and healthy food. Organic food is safe, more nutritious, eco friendly, protects against deadly diseases like cancer and maintains peace of mind. A fresh & pure diet fosters purity of mind, body and soul. It leads to spirituality be it the Bible, Quaran or the Bhagvad Gita, the first advice is ‘to keep the body in good health is our duty, for otherwise we shall not be able to cut the lamp of wisdom and keep our mind strong and clear’.
Organic food is better for nutrition. ‘Organic food really has more nutrients, minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C, magnesium and iron and phosphorous than conventional produced food. All This is because in organic farming, great emphasis is on nourishing the soil which in turn gives healthy crops. Healthy plants give produce that is packed full of all the vitamins and minerals which give flavor and goodness to our food. The time allowed for the crops to grow by not using harmful chemical fertilizers is the final key elements making it possible for organic crops to have much higher nutrition levels.

The preservation process is indeed simplified, but the natural methods for collecting and preservation of seeds have been outgrown and outdone. Hence, there are still concerned farmers who still believe in natural cultivation of seeds wherein they are patiently and diligently growing varieties of seeds which are not part of the common selections that can be seen these days. This is the purpose of organic promotion to increase the preservation and cultivation of diversity so that generations to come may still witness and see those species.
